SPRING NEWSLETTER 2025

ALL MEETINGS AT BIDEFORD METHODIST CHURCH HALL, HIGH STREET, BIDEFORD EX39 2DQ

SECRETARY'S NOTES

We’ve managed to arrange meetings at the same venue, Bideford Methodist Church Hall and for the Autumn / Winter meetings will use the smaller Choir Room which is much more economical to heat and the right size for current numbers. We return to using the main room in the Spring with meetings, commencing from 8th April with the entrance from the usual doors on Honestone Street Car Park. Don’t forget there is a fee to pay on afternoon meetings and for the duration of the meeting £4.00 covers up to 4 hours or £2.40 for 2 hours (usually enough to cover the afternoon meetings). Evening meetings are still free parking. Spring and Summer we have had some trips out to Rosemoor on 18th May by cars, Buckfast Abbey on 15th June by coach and on 31st August an afternoon at Mike & Pauline Wright’s home at Sheepwash by minibus which was a great event and our thanks to them for being superb hosts. Their Cream Tea raised funds for two charities.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Subscriptions due at the Annual General Meeting on 10th December 2025 and newsletters will be sent before this via email where we have the details or by post where you aren’t on the internet. We would ask that if you no longer wish to continue membership please let us know to reduce unwanted mail and postage.

Many thanks to Pauline Spencer for the Social Secretary role and organising speakers and the excellent Raffle at the Show. Our Show on 18th August 2024 was good although lacking in attendance. The show on Sunday 10th August 2025 clashed with Transport Festival event in the park and suffered badly for attendance as a result of that.
